This project showcases the branding and visual applications for a new Eastern European Gothic music festival.
The identity draws inspiration from the region’s rich architectural heritage and dark romantic aesthetics, blending traditional Gothic motifs with modern design elements to create a bold, immersive brand experience.
The aim was to capture the festival’s atmosphere - mysterious, dramatic, and unapologetically expressive -while ensuring adaptability across print, digital, and merchandise applications.
The branding draws heavily on the intricate forms of traditional religious calligraphy, reinterpreting these historic letter forms into a contemporary visual language.
By incorporating ornate strokes, elongated serifs, and decorative flourishes, the identity pays homage to the spiritual and architectural heritage of Eastern Europe.
This approach creates a sense of reverence and mystery while aligning with the dark, dramatic tone of the Gothic music scene, resulting in a brand that feels both sacred and subversive.
